About Us

Jacob grew up in Layton, UT, his first job was helping his dad build bridges at 14 years old. He spent many summers living in various parts of Idaho while working construction. His dad found that he was very good as fixing things. When equipment went down it became his responsibility to troubleshoot and fix the issue. When he reached adulthood, he decided to broaden his knowledge base with a change in careers. He took a job for a company in 1984 installing phone systems for Smith grocery store. This path led him to 38-year career in the telecommunication industry. He worked for a variety of companies like; TriTel, IdeaCom, and McCloud. In 1994, TriTel relocated him and his family to Pocatello, ID. Eventually starting his own company, Summit Communications, in 2003 serving Southeast Idaho. Since he started the company, he has worked with many companies in the area. A few are Big Dog Satellite, Super T Transportation, AMS, City of Chubbuck. Jake has built relationships with many national companies, to act as local sub-contractor for example Pet Smart, AMC, Fred Meyer, Verizon, and USPS.

While building his career, Jake and his wife raised 3 beautiful children. He now has 6 grandchildren that he joins spending time with as well as mountain biking, fishing and enjoying the beautiful Idaho country.

Conner is a technician. He has a passion for cars, snowboarding, and video games. During his high school career, he worked at Costa Vida for 2 years. There he learned a lot about working with customers, learning to communicate and anticipate their needs. After graduating from Pocatello High school in 2022 he decides to take his hobby of cars further by getting a job at Dave's Glass and Tint. There he got the opportunity to work a lot with a variety of vehicle types and building relationships with customers. He enjoyed his job at Dave’s but wanted to pursue some of his other interests. Summit Communications hired him in the fall of 2024 as a technician. Where is he is putting to use many of talents he learned at previous employment. Especially his customer relation skills and excellent ability to communicate with the customers. Some of his favorite things enjoys about his position is the problem-solving aspect of the different tasks he works on. He enjoys meeting the customers and learning how he can help make their businesses function efficiently. He is hoping to take the knowledge and opportunities he receives at Summit to further his career path in the telecommunications industry.
